Seniors Jack Hunter and Logan Monroe won the three special awards presented to Sioux County

athletes at the annual awards banquet May 1.

Hunter earned both the Cori Martinson Scholar Athlete Award and the Kim Jamison Outstanding

Athlete Award. Hunter earned first team All-Conference and District 6 Running Back Honors

and has been selected for the annual Six-Man All-Star Football Game.

Monroe won the Donny Mack Enthusiasm Award. He was selected as first team All-Conference

and first team District 6 Tight End.

Both athletes were also named Honorable Mention All-Conference in basketball.

Hunter also received the Outstanding Leadership Award for the school’s FFA Chapter. He was

presented the award by his mom, retiring FFA advisor Trisha Hunter. Superintendent Liz Baker

then recognized Hunter for her 24 years of service to the district.

Kaydy Potter, Sierra Eastman and Kaylee Juhnke

Football Letterwinners:

First-Year – Taylen Lambert, Gilberto Hernandez

Second-Year – Brody Lange, Thaine Monroe, Jhett Skavdahl, Taylor Kreman, Preston Kreman

Third-Year – Baxter Reece

Fourth-Year -Seth Dunn, Josh Perez, Logan Monroe, Jack Hunter

Special Football Honors:

Preston Kreman – Honorable Mention All-Conference and District 6

Baxter Reece – 1 st Team All-Conference and 2 nd Team Quarterback District 6

Logan Monroe – 1 st Team All-Conference and 1 st Team Tight End District 6

Jack Hunter – 1 st Team All-Conference and 1st Team Running Back District 6, Selected for Six-

Man All Star Game

Golf Team Recognition (Letterwinners not selected until season concludes): Jhett Skavdahl,

Baxter Reece, Seth Dunn, Jack Hunter

Track Team Recognition (Letterwinners not selected until season concludes): Zoey Sanderson,

Preston Kreman, Morgan Randall and Victoria Turbiville. Turbiville was recognized as a

letterwinner for last year’s track season. During the 2024 season, she qualified for state in discus

and shotput and set a school record in discus. She has since broke that record this season.
