Feedback sought;
The SIoux County Schools Board of Education has had discussions regarding the decrease in student enrollment and have discussed ideas to try to increase enrollment. One of the ideas that surfaced is a four day school week. The board would like feedback from the public to see if there is support or oppostion of a four day school week. As this is an idea to increase student enrollment they are specifically wondering if the public feels this would draw more students to our district. They are also interested in knowing how current families feel about it. The “draft calendar” presented is for information only. In this draft version, the school day would be lengthened by 30 mins and there would be about 2 more weeks of school compared to the current five day school week calendar.
