Crawford opened its season on the gridiron with a 64-18 loss against Leyton Aug. 28.
The Leyton Warriors used a pair of 22-0 quarters to outdistance the Rams. Leyton opened the game with a strong offensive and defensive showing for the first 22-0 run and extended their lead to 36-4 by halftime.
Coming out of the break, the Warriors continued to dominate, with the second 22-0 run in the third quarter. Crawford finally outpaced Leyton in the fourth quarter, scoring 14 and holding the Warriors to a single touchdown.
Leyton passed for 60 yards and rushed for 203. Colt Van Anne carried the rushing game on his back for the Warriors with 136 yards on 10 carries. He also carried two of Leyton’s three rushing touchdowns. Hunter Borges scored twice after hauling in two catches for 15 yards.
